28DIGITAL was founded upon the initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. 28DIGITAL received €1.1B funding and strategic guidance from the EIT over 15 years as an EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC). Following the successful signature of a Memorandum of Cooperation, the EIT and 28DIGITAL collaborate to further boost innovation in digital transformation across Europe and beyond.
Politecnico di Bari (POLIBA) is an Italian public scientific-technological university founded in 1990. It is one of the leading institutions for studying engineering and architecture in Italy. Located in Bari, the main city of the Apulia Region, Politecnico also has locations in Foggia and Taranto. Since the beginning, the policy of Politecnico has been distinguished by its focus on quality of research and education innovation, internationalization and plurality of higher education courses. Overall, there are over 10.000 students enrolled, with an average of around 2.000 graduating students each year. Master’s degree graduates boast the highest level of employment in the country.
Its researchers are at the top of international rankings for excellence in several flagship areas for both new technologies and typical engineering sciences. The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is the largest university in Greece. The main campus is located in the centre of the city of Thessaloniki, and covers an area of about 33.4 hectares. It comprises 10 faculties which consist of 40 schools and 1 single-School Faculty. Some educational and administrative facilities are located off campus for practical and operational reasons. A number of these facilities are located outside the city of Thessaloniki or even in other cities.
